She’s Like A Rainbow

It’s been just over four months since we featured the beautiful vocals and sounds of singer songwriter Janie Price, aka Bird, on ‘The Tides’. The first release from her upcoming soundtrack album for the short film Wider Than The Sky was a haunting and evocative composition combining electronic textures with folk and orchestral instrumentation that saw her receive massive support at regional radio. Her follow up, ‘She’s Like A Rainbow’, draws on, once again, traditional folk and combines it with atmospheric dream pop, rich orchestration and cinematic soundscapes to create a mesmerising listen. Co-written with John Paul White (The Civil Wars) and produced by Mike Hedges (The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, Travis), the song is another gorgeous and emotive piece of songwriting and production. Released last Friday (26 January), ‘She’s Like A Rainbow’ featured on editorial playlists at Apple Music and would sound perfect on Radio 2, 4 and 6 Music, alongside regional radio support. Just brilliant.
