Somebody Loves You
Betty Who
WE SAY
Six foot two tall and with a striking blonde crop, Australian-born Boston adoptee Betty Who makes brash, 80's-inspired electropop that sounds just the way she looks. Shimmering pop-dance track Somebody Loves You is the opener of free-to-download The Movement EP, any of whose four strong tracks we could have featured, ranging as they do from the brassy synthpop of High Society to the intimate balladry of Right Here. Produced by Peter Thomas and mastered by Greg Calbi, Popjustice loved the EP so much they posted all four songs twice (hailing them '2013's best proper EP so far'), while Arjan Writes, Idolator, Planet Notion and Pigeons & Planes have all heaped praise. Betty Who hosts a launch party for the EP at Pianos in New York on May 3.
