Something Now
Bess Atwell
WE SAY
Premiered on Steve Lamacq’s 6 Music show last week and featuring on Spotify UK’s New Music Friday playlist, ‘Something Now’ is the latest release from Bess Atwell’s upcoming Aaron Dessner-produced album ‘Light Sleeper’. It’s been over two years since we last featured the Brighton-based artist and she has lost none of that ability to dazzle with her vocal talent. With its rich and emotive soundscape of light guitars, soft percussion and atmospheric synth, the track warmly entices you to hum along as Bess opens up on embracing a wider range of emotions. It’s a beautiful ode, which has also garnered praise from Dork, She Makes Music and more. Watch the Super 8 filmed video here. Bess was recently interviewed with Aaron Dessner about the forthcoming album in Rolling Stone US magazine, and has previously received support from Independent, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, Metro and Uncut. Fresh from supporting Ed Sheeran at the Royal Albert Hall, Bess will play a series of intimate live shows in June, including a sold-out London Union Chapel (7 June) and then head out again for a UK headline tour in October. Top stuff.
