WE SAY
Bertie Blackman has released Secrets And Lies in her native Australia, her third studio album and first release on management's label Forum5. Already nominated for a Triple J award, hitting the top spot of the iTunes album chart there and receiving a hugely positive critical response at home, she is up for an Aria award today for Best Independent Release. The album was produced by Lee Groves (Goldfrapp/Gwen Stefani) and Francois Tetaz (Architecture In Helsinki), and Thump hints at the smart and edgy pop sound running through it. The very decent DC Breaks remix of future single Byrds Of Prey (strea/download on Soundcloud) is MistaJam's Record of the Week currently on BBC 1Xtra with a Radio 1 play to come this Sunday. Other early UK support has also come in the form of an XFM session with John Kennedy and a Courtyard Session with The Fly. JF Video.
