Since we last featured Bertie Blackman, she has won an Aria award (Best Independent Release) for her third studio album Secrets And Lies, from which this single is taken. Produced and mixed by Lee Groves (Goldfrapp, Gwen Stefani) and Francois Tetaz (Architecture In Helsinki), the album has also just been nominated for their Mercury Prize equivalent, The Australian Music Prize. The album has an eclectic array of smartly-produced pop sounds fronted by Blackman's distinct voice (which led Time Out London to call her 'The Australian Florence'). Check out her debut UK shows this week. Early radio support has come from BBC Radio 1's Kissy Sell Out, Galaxy Network and it's on Gaydar Radio's B list.
