Let us introduce you to 16 year old Midland-based singer-songwriter Belle. Having grown up listening and singing along to Avril Lavigne in a family full of fun, the young artist decided, from an early age, to follow her passions of music, fashion and dance. Over the last two years, Belle has been honing her writing skills to express kindness, hope and strength through music. Her first two singles, Run and Just B U, released in 2022, sees her draw on that 90s alternative rock sound, much like her Canadian idol, to create an energetic and uplifting alt-pop sound. Alongside the releases, Belle undertook a schools’ tour, through October to December, to an audience of 10k schoolchildren aged between 9 and 13 across 40 schools, where she also spoke to them about mental health, online safety and cyberbullying. Released last Friday (12 May), Yeh So Wot is her latest release about standing up for yourself. With early tastemaker support coming from Midlands regional radio and press, it may only be early days, but we reckon there is something to like about her writing, energy and passion that could lead to bright things ahead for this young artist.
