Becky Hill is no stranger to the Top 40, having written and sung the No.1 smash Gecko (Overdrive) with Oliver Heldens in 2014, along with two other recent hits with MK and Matoma (the latter of which has racked up more than 62 million Spotify plays). She’s also a fantastic writer too who’s worked with Rudimental, Wilkinson and Shift K3y among others. Now, she follows up her solo track Back To Love with this seductive new song that perfectly demonstrates why she’s so in demand as a performer and musician who’s locked into the global sounds of today. On Monday (October 17) Annie Mac featured this as her Hottest Record on Radio 1, and MistaJam played it last night on his 1Xtra show. Released on her own label, it’s a fabulous soulful sound with minimalist electro pulses and beats and an R&B groove that sets things up perfectly for her forthcoming debut album. Her first solo show at London’s Electrowerkz on November 2 is already sold out, but expect more dates in the new year. Becky’s a brilliant British talent with so many strings to her bow, and this deserves to be massive.
