Do Not Claim Them Anymore
Balthazar
WE SAY
Do Not Claim Them Anymore is full of sonic depth and offers a taster of Balthazar's penchant for intriguing melody. Fans of Serge Gainsbourg should enjoy the landscape of brass stabs, Bollywood strings, carefully engineered percussion and general warmth of the musical pallet on offer throughout the excellent single, though it should be said that Balthazar are a band best enjoyed on album. Rats (February 25) will be their first officially released album in the UK, and it's picking up a jubilant reaction from fans, leading to sold out shows pre new-year at London's Water Rats and a January show at The Lexington. A forthcoming UK tour with Local Natives should serve as a platform to heighten Balthazar's national presence to an all new high.
