Mouth Shut
Baby Said
WE SAY
With the Great Escape kicking off fully today, we highly recommend you catch Italian/Punjabi teenager sisters Veronica and Jess Pal, aka Baby Said. The duo have impressed us over the last six months with their brand of energetic rock, so much so that we tipped them in our Ones To Watch 2024. Inspired by Maneskin through to Nova Twins and Hole, Baby Said have already captured the attention of tastemakers at Apple Music with additions to UK, Italy and global rock playlists, alongside support at Deezer and VEVO. Plus, Alyx Holcombe has been a big supporter on BBC Introducing. Released last Friday (10 May), ‘Mouth Shut’ produced by Lewis Gardiner (Twin Atlantic, Aqualung) and co-written with Ryan Lawrie is the follow up to the Gethin Pearson (The Enemy, Mallory Knox) produced single ‘You Killed It’ and will feature on their debut EP ‘Who Gives A Rock out 21 June. With its blend of classic rock riffs, pop punk bass lines and catchy vocals, the track is lively blast modern rock and has featured heavily across Apple Music playlists, including the global rock playlists for the UK and Italy, The New Rock and New in Rock. Watch the fun video here. You can catch them playing today at the St Nicholas Church (16.15), the Prince Albert tonight (21.30) and then tomorrow at the Fiddlers Elbow (19.15) for the Big Hug Showcase as part of the Alternative Escape. This summer will see them play Victorious, Loud Women Fest, Rebellion and Twisterella festivals, with a huge festival to be announced soon. One to watch.
