WE SAY
Last time we featured California’s AWOLNATION was at the end of 2013 with their epic track Sail. It went on to become a UK Top 20 smash, spent almost six months on the chart and six weeks on Radio 1’s A-list, sold nearly half a million copies here and more than five million units in the USA where it broke Billboard’s chart record for the longest run by an independent artist. Oh, and it was synced just about everywhere you turned at the time. Now comes the follow-up and it’s a solid slice of alternative rock, undoubtedly set to see the fan base expand even further. The latest album Run has been 18 months in the making up in the Malibu Hills by frontman Aaron Bruno, who performed, produced and wrote this and all of the other tracks. A European tour starts soon including a UK date at London’s Electric Ballroom in Camden on April 1. Combining electro beats with crunchy and punchy guitars over a chorus hook that’ll be in your head after just one listen, this is yet another unstoppable worldwide monster.
