Flowers (Say My Name)
ArrDee
WE SAY
Next up on our Ones To Watch 2022 is the exciting breakout rapper ArrDee. It’s been something of a momentous year for the 19 year old Brighton lad who shot to fame on Russ Millions & Tion Wayne’s Body Remix in April. That track became a no.1 chart hit and helped him land his first Top Ten (no.6) solo hit with the infectious Oliver Twist. His unique flow and cheeky one-liners combined with clever samples and commanding beats has seen him gain a loyal and big following already. In just under a year, he has amassed over 3.8bn TikTok views, 698K Instagram followers and 210m streams, which is an impressive feat, and we reckon 2022 is set to eclipse those spectacular figures. GRM Daily, Noisey, The Face, Notion, Viper, Radio 1, 1 Xtra, KISS, Captial Xtra, Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, plus many more, are among his tastemaker admirers. Plus, he’s not only been tipped by us but also by Vevo (DSCVR Class of 2022), YouTube (Artist On The Rise 2022), and MTV (Push UK & Ire 2022) too, so far. This latest release sees ArrDee sampling iconic tracks Flowers by Sweet Female Attitude and Say My Name by Destiny’s Child to deliver an astonishingly addictive and slick earworm. It is this ability to bring old and new sounds together with relatable lyrics, delivered with a charming and witty guile, which, for us, makes him one of our Ones To Watch for in 2022.
