Apples
WE SAY
The Fly wrote that Apples have 'the afro-beat rhythm of Vampire Weekend with the raspy Brit intonation and pop hook melodies of Madness'. They're very pop and very British - we would wager that their music collections contain more than a few Haircut 100 and XTC records. We first featured them last year with their debut single Reason 45. Since then they've been signed to Universal Music Publishing and are working on their debut album. This next single was produced by Charlie Hugall (Florence + The Machine's 'You've Got The Love', Jack Penate) and is backed by an equally infectious cover of 'Caravan of Love' - in fact, their a cappella treatment of it is ripe for some good sync action. Apples have just finished supporting The Bluetones on their UK tour and summer dates lined up include Secret Garden Party.
