If you haven't heard the androgynous, infectious and chilling voice of Antony & The Johnsons by now, it won't be long until you do. One of this year's Nationwide Mercury Music Prize shortlisted albums, I Am A Bird Now will make a lot of people's Top 5 this year. Lou Reed (for whom Antony was a backing singer), Devendra Banhart, Rufus Wainwright and Boy George all guest on their second full length, For Today I Am A Boy is the second single taken from it. For a simple but affecting piece of music, look no further. An unusual voice with an extraordinary power, this may just be the best song ever written about gender confusion. A class act. They play London's All Tomorrow's Parties festival on December 4 and Shepherd's Bush Empire on December 5.
