Stone’s Throw Away

Opening with a waltzing piano melody and soft, intimate vocals, ‘Stone’s Throw Away’ is the beautiful new single from Co. Kilkenny born and raised singer-songwriter and musician Annika Kilkenny. Written in her first year at university about the longing and emptiness of being separated from the people you love, the track builds with layers of electric and acoustic guitar melodies to create another earnest and thoughtful release. Praise for her music has come from Irish tastemakers Hot Press, Nialler 9 and Goldenplec, alongside support from Spotify editorial playlists and spins on RTE 2FM, but we expect more will shortly follow. Thanks to her cover of ‘Dancing Queen’, which has become a staple in her live set, this Saturday will see her feature in the BBC Radio 4 documentary about Abba and the 50th anniversary of their Eurovision win. She is currently working on her debut EP, having supported Laufey in London last February. One to watch.
