Sounding so smooth and very tasty indeed, unsigned north London-based musician and multi-instrumentalist Amir is a talented singer-songwriter who’s currently carving a niche in the crowded world of R&B pop, but doing so with style and his own individual UK twist on the genre. He’s been backwards and forwards across the Atlantic over the past six months working with a bunch of Grammy-winning and nominated production teams to craft his music and is now ready to share the fruits of his labours, beginning with this accomplished track whose chorus hook will stay with you long after you’ve heard it for the first time. The falsetto vocal will remind you of acts like The Weeknd, Usher and Trey Songz but there’s an old-skool garage-y feel to some of the beats and flows here. With stars like Craig David back in the limelight and opening up a whole new audience for that sound, those influences permeate this slick track and make him a real exciting prospect, not just at home in Britain but on an international platform. His future looks very bright indeed.
