WE SAY
American R&B and soul singer-songwriter Allen Stone released this joyous blast of morale-boosting soul-pop last Friday. Produced by Jamie Lidell, Warriors effortlessly infuses a soulful tune with disco-inspired grooves and a gloriously rousing chorus of “Walk tall like warriors, head high, head high, head high”. With seven Spotify New Music Friday inclusions including the UK and USA already, we can easily see this track gaining more traction across contextual playlists over the coming weeks and, with the right push at radio, this would also happily sit on Radio 1 and 2 playlists, as well as spins on specialist shows. Last Sunday, he played a powerful and inspiring performance of the track at the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics USA Games (watch here) and earlier this year appeared on American Idol to perform a stunning duet of his single Unaware with a contestant. With the feelgood factor running high in the UK at the moment, this uplifting tune is the perfect anthem of the moment. Just spectacular.
