Continuing to impress us with this soaring pop ballad is Italian-born London-based singer-songwriter, Alice Pisano. She has come a long way since we first praised her back in 2018 for tracks from debut EP, Celebrate Life, and her subsequent releases, which we have supported here at RotD, have only strengthened them. Now, with over 5m combined streams and tastemaker support from Spotify, Dutch Radio NPO Radio 2, BBC Radio London and Amazing Radio, she is back with this acoustic guitar-led track. Written by Alice and produced by Troy Miller (Emeli Sandé, Jamie Cullum), Seventeen has an almost Swiftian air about it, incorporating some moving harmonies and lush touches of electronics and strings. Released last Friday (9 April), streaming support has come from Spotify Italy, Greece and Israel on their respective New Music Friday playlists. Plus, we reckon there is a good chance of this picking up additions to mellow contextual playlists like previous tracks. Quite simply, a beautiful song.
