Let us introduce you to the world of London-based ‘chic pop’ singer-songwriter Alfreda and her excellent new single ‘Nude’. Embodying an old school Hollywood glamour, Alfreda delivers an alluring fusion of vintage swing with David Lynch-ian atmospheres, all wrapped up in a pop ballad air. Opening with an emotive piano and strings combination, ‘Nude’ sees Alfreda exploring the first moment a woman is seen as an object of desire. Released last week, the track was produced by Moses van den Bogaerde and co-written with songwriter George Petrie. Taken from her forthcoming EP ‘Mother’s Makeup Pt.1’, the track is perfect for new pop and pop ballad playlists at DSPs. Watch the music video here. Tastemaker support for her previous music has come from Hunger, Notion and Wonderland. Alongside her music, Alfreda holds down a cabaret-inspired residency called ‘Bedroom Tales’ at House of Koko and recently, she was featured in Tatler (May cover date), discussing her music and cabaret. In September, she will headline The Troubadour in London. One to watch.
