Too Close
Alex Clare
WE SAY
As SoulCulture points out, there's a trend for 'blue-eyed-soul over futuristic production' at the moment and for us Alex Clare is leading the way. A follow-up to his first outing Up All Night, which we also featured, Too Close further shines a light on his talents. Fearne Cotton recently played Too Close to positive reactions and John Kennedy has supported with plays and a live session. As if to further pronounce his blend of soul and dubstep, Magnetic Man invited Alex to sing John Legend's part on their Live Lounge performance of Getting Nowhere on Jo Whiley's show last month (watch and listen here). Nadastrom's chopped up remix of the track has been getting plenty of blog love too. Another single, Treading Water, is set to arrive alongside Alex Clare's debut album in early summer. Watch the video here.
