Supermum!
Adore
WE SAY
From the raucous punk energy of the Sex Pistols to the charming indie aesthetics of Elastica, ‘Supermum!’ is the latest release from Irish garage-punk trio Adore. Consisting of Dublin’s Lara Minchin (guitar, vocals, lyricist), Donegal's Lachlann Ó Fionnáin (bass, vocals) and Galway’s Naoise Jordan Cavanagh (drums), the trio have been gigging relentlessly since the release of their debut ‘Postcards’ in June 2023, supporting the likes of The Scratch, 86TVs, The Bug Club and Cardinals. Along the way, they have picked up tastemaker support from So Young, Clash, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, Dork, Rough Trade and John Kennedy at Radio X, as well as support from all key Irish tastemakers. Produced by Gilla Band bassist Daniel Fox, ‘Supermum!’ is a satirical exploration of the insidious normalisation of sexual assault and abuse and a call to action, encouraging open dialogue and challenging societal attitudes that perpetuate sexual violence. This November, the trio will be supporting Sprints on their UK tour, including a show at the Kentish Town Forum on 13 November. With more new music to share this side of 2024 and a debut project still to be released, Adore are a band to watch.
