Levi's Brand Launches blur Band Tee Collection Based on Classic Logo and Album Cover 10 Apr 2025
One of England’s most enduring and iconic bands, blur have been at the heart of British cultural life and influence for over three decades. Formed in 1989, the trailblazing band defined an era with their sharp lyrics and genre-blending sound. From their breakout single ‘There’s No Other Way’ to the global smash hit ‘Song 2’ and iconic album Parklife, blur’s impact is undeniable. In celebration of the band’s musical and cultural legacy, the new Levi's® x Blur Band Tee Collection delivers fresh tees featuring their classic logo and a beloved album cover.
Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, blur’s Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree went on to further revolutionize the sound of English popular music with their second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993) – a record that acted as both foretaste and catalyst of a British pop renaissance whose impact pushed outwards into the worlds of art, cinema and even politics. Five successive UK #1 albums including Parklife (1994), The Great Escape (1995), Think Tank (2003), The Magic Whip (2015), and most recently the critically acclaimed The Ballad of Darren (2023) - helped to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. Songs such as For Tomorrow, Girls & Boys, Parklife, Beetlebum, Song 2, Coffee & TV and Tender have become modern standards, both to long-time fans and generations of music lovers around the world who were yet to be born during the group’s imperial hit-making phase.
“Levi’s® has always been rooted in music”, says Leo Gamboa, Senior Director of Global Collaborations & Customization Design at Levi’s®, “We wanted to bring back the vibe of your favorite blur band tee—authentic, timeless, and made with quality that lasts for years to come.”
The new Levi's® x blur Band Tee Collection honors their classic logo from the ‘90s, the decade when they came roaring onto the international music scene. A white tee is emblazoned with the blur logo on a blue background while a black tee is emblazoned with the logo on a red background. Delivered on a sea blue shirt, the collection’s third and final tee features a print of the artwork for the album The Great Escape, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Inspired by 90’s era woven labels, the collection’s interior neck labels add period correct authenticity to each t-shirt.
The Levi's® x blur Band Tee Collection is part of a broader collection of artist tees that the Levi’s® brand will release throughout the year. The bands featured for recently released tees include Sonic Youth, Joy Division, New Order, and Oasis.
The Levi's® x blur Band Tee Collection is available globally April 10th on Levi.com, the Levi’s® App, and select Levi’s®Stores.
This new partnership was facilitated by WMX, Warner Music Group's merchandise and fan experiences division.
