Angry Mob Music Group Extends Exclusive Worldwide Co-Publishing Deal with Hitmaker Rune Westberg 08 Dec 2021
Angry Mob Music Group, an independent music publisher boldly serving songwriters, composers, artists, and creatives, has extended its worldwide co-publishing deal with LA-based Danish songwriter/producer, mixer, and multi-instrumentalist Rune Westberg. The extension continues his relationship with the Angry Mob Music team and its joint venture partnership with Patrick Conseil's Pure Pop Music.
"Rune Westberg is a multihyphenate talent who never ceases to amaze us with his songwriting and artistry. Ever since he joined the Angry Mob family through our close partnership with Patrick Conseil, it has been a delight to work with him and we can't wait to see what's next," said Marc Caruso, CEO of Angry Mob Music Group.
"So happy to be continuing my relationship with Angry Mob. It's such a great family to belong to -- a family of music lovers that are invested in everything they do for all the right reasons. I'm super grateful to be part of it," said Westberg.
Having garnered over 350 million streams on Spotify alone, the hitmaker has worked with artists around the world across multiple genres. Westberg is currently in the studio with frequent collaborator Grammy-nominated Blues artist Beth Hart. They co -wrote four songs on her last album produced by Rob Cavallo, War in My Mind (Provogue) that charted in 12 European countries and went Top 20 in Germany (#6) and UK (#19). He is also working with emerging artist BAYWUD on a new EP entitled Home, as well as co-wrote the artists' most recent singles, "Silver & Gold," "(We Don't Have ) to Walk Alone," and "Hold On To Me," which are high on rotation on radio stations in the U.S.
Westberg's expansive discography features hits by Alvaro Soler ("Animal"), Jai Waetford ("Shy"), Daughtry ("No Surprise"), Part-Time Friends ("Streets and Stories"), Deepend (''One thing left to do''), Casey Abrams ("Get Out"), Prince Royce ("Extraordinary"), and more. His hit "Ecos de Amor" co-written and recorded by Jesse & Joy garnered them a 2016 Latin Grammy-nomination in 2016. He's also worked with a wide array of established and up-and-coming artists, such as Shawn Hook, Colbie Caillat, Valerie Broussard, Sofia Reyes, Matt Simons, Axelle Red, Anna Clendenning, Haven, Carys, Monowhales, Jon Bryant, Dylan Dunlap, Joe Doe Rooney (of Rascal Flatts), Desi Valentine, Hamish Anderson, Jordan Klassen, Delta Goodrem, Marina Kaye, Ruby Velle, Too Close to Touch, Cary Brothers, Caroline Kole, and Jessica Childress. As a solo artist, Westberg has released four singles under the solo project, rüün.
Additionally, Westberg's songs have been featured in many TV series including Shameless, Suits, Queen Sugar, Valor, American Woman, Grey's Anatomy, The Rookie, Riverdale, an ABC promo for Pride and Prejudice, as well as in major global advertising campaigns for Adobe and Citroen.
"Rune is a prolific and solid writer and producer. Artists admire him and respect his talent, and he always gets the best out of them. I'm really excited we are able to continue working together with the Angry Mob family to build upon the success. We have set exciting goals to achieve working with emerging and established talent, and the great Angry Mob sync department. The possibilities are unlimited," said Patrick Conseil, President of Pure Pop Music.
