Tonight, Rolling Stone UK magazine – the world's greatest music, film and television magazine published in the UK since September 2021 – hosted the second annual Rolling Stone UK Awards at the legendary Camden Roundhouse, London.
Guests included Ellie Goulding, Jamie Demetriou, Aisling Bea, Bimini, Jordan Stephens of Rizzle Kicks, Slick Rick, Kola Bokinni, Simon Le Bon and more.
Award recipients included Nile Rodgers who received the Global Icon Award, supported by Visit West Hollywood from Duran Duran legend Simon LeBon, while the Album Award, supported by Volvo went to Fontaines D.C.
The Icon Award, supported by Visit West Hollywood went to New Order, with frontman Bernard Sumner accepting the award with Tom Chapman and Phil Cunningham from Blur bassist Alex James.
The evening was hosted by comedian Jayde Adams with performances on the night including an electrifying turn from dance duo Confidence Man, Mercury Prize winning Leeds band English Teacher, JADE and a closing medley from the cast of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical.
Other notable accolades included the Artist Award which went to Yannis Philippakis for his solo project Yannis & The Yaw – an emotional and heartfelt completion of his work with legendary late Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen. The Play Next Award – named after Rolling Stone UK's online series to champion fresh new talent – went to Scottish soul star Brooke Combe.
