Winners announced for the inaugural YMB Awards 2017

The only music industry awards platform honouring creative and executive talent of individuals under 30, with categories ranging from 'Lawyer (rising star) of the year' to 'Promoter of the year'.

The annual Young Music Boss Awards launched this Thursday 23rd November and took place at Tuke Hall in Regent's park. With music licensing organisation PPL and Record of the Day among the list of sponsoring organisations, the awards offer a breath of fresh air by acknowledging talent beyond the traditional music awards categories; reinforcing the important contribution made by U30 music professionals and entrepreneurs.

With more than 300 guests in attendance the YMB Awards featured performances by rising artists such as J Lavaly and Nipah as well as presentations by prominent influencers in music. Notably,  DJ Semtex (BBC 1XTRA ) presented 'DJ of the Year',  Andy Edwards (MMF/UK Music) presented  'Lawyer of the Year',  Stephen Budd (MMF) presented ' Agent of the Year',  Ben Anderson  (Musicalize) gave out promoter of the year while Afrobeats superstar Eugy gave out the award for 'Producer of the year'.

Nominees were selected through a trusted committee of industry heads, including Celitia Martin (songwriter and publisher), Prince Rapid (Ruff Squad Foundation) and Sunjay Kohli (Ticketmaster). The shortlist of nominees was then put to the public. This excludes the YMB 'Music Entrepreneur of the Year' award which is peer voted and announced before the show.
