Nordoff and Robbins, the UK's largest music therapy charity, has teamed up with London Underground viral duo All on the Board to give away a one-of-a-kind poetry board that celebrates 30 years of the classic Oasis album 'Definitely Maybe', signed by frontman Liam Gallagher, to raise money for the charity's vital music therapy services.
Those who want to be in with a chance of owning this special piece of (brit)pop culture history can enter via Crowdfunder here. It costs £5 for one entry or £10 for three, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Nordoff and Robbins. The prize draw closes at 9am GMT on 12th September.
The A3 board features a poem that cleverly weaves in iconic song titles from Definitely Maybe, which was released on 29th August, 1994 and became one of the fastest selling debut albums in British history. Handwritten and signed in permanent ink, this a real collector's item that is truly original.
All on the Board is the pseudonym for two writing partners, Jeremy Chopra and Ian Redpath, who found huge success on social media in 2017 when they began sharing poetry and other "ditties" focusing on mental health and inspiring positivity and hope.
Written on customer information boards displayed in London tube stations, their writing gained them a huge number of followers and celebrity endorsements from the likes of Michelle Obama, Katy Perry, Kylie and LG himself.
Through the power of music, Nordoff and Robbins breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability, and social isolation. The charity's trained music therapists use music to create space for people to express themselves and find connection in society.
Money raised through this Crowdfunder could go towards purchasing instruments used by music therapists in places like schools, hospitals and care homes, or help to fund music therapy sessions nationwide. In 2023, Nordoff and Robbins held nearly 50,000 music therapy sessions across the UK.
Sandy Trappitt, Deputy Director of Fundraising, Nordoff and Robbins, said: "With the Oasis reunion taking over headlines, Definitely Maybe's 30th anniversary, the launch of the first ever Northern Music Awards earlier this year and our plans to open a new music therapy space in Salford moving forward, we couldn't think of a better time to give away this amazing prize and raise money for Nordoff and Robbins.
We'd like to thank All on the Board for their support and for offering us this unique opportunity to connect with Oasis fans 'all around the world'. Every penny raised will go towards helping people with a range of conditions, from autism to dementia, learning difficulties to brain injuries, life-limiting illnesses to mental health issues, grief, and trauma – all through the power of music."
