Charity Partnership Extended for Another Year
Music Venue Trust (MVT), the UK charity which represents hundreds of Grassroots Music Venues has welcomed a donation of over £30,000 from WeGotTickets.
WeGotTickets, a socially and environmentally responsible ticketing and live events company, appointed MVT as its official 2024 charity partner and asked its customers to consider a voluntary donation when purchasing tickets that would go the organisation’s Pipeline Investment Fund, which supports GMVs with infrastructure, repairs, training and staffing requirements.
The Pipeline Investment Fund, which supports UK based GMVs, artists and promoters was established in 2022 with the support of members of the Music Venues Alliance, and was initially funded by donations from ticket sales of MVT’s ‘Revive Live’ programme of gigs around the UK, which was a partnership with The National Lottery.
Since its launch several other companies and organisations have run initiatives and made donations to the Pipeline Investment Fund, which has to date raised and allocated over £5m, including over £500,000 into GMV infrastructure.
WeGotTickets strive to be a force for good within the ticketing and live events industry and have transparency and ethical business practices at the core of its mission statement. It has some of the lowest booking fees and is a keen and active supporter of local grassroots music, working with event organisers of all shapes and sizes including professionals, hobbyists, part-timers and first-timers.
Steven Endersby, Marketing Manager of WeGotTickets said, “For over twenty years WeGotTickets has supported the UK’s independent music scene, so we were delighted to partner with Music Venue Trust earlier this year to collect donations for their Pipeline Investment Fund. It’s been great seeing the way our customers have responded, donating over £30,000 to support grassroots music venues in just ten months – and we’re looking forward to working with MVT again throughout 2025.”
Mark Davyd, CEO of Music Venue Trust said, “We are very grateful to the team at WeGotTickets and their customers for this very welcome donation into our Pipeline Investment Fund, which provides vital support for grassroots music venues across the UK. At a time when these venues are facing serious and mounting challenges the generosity of companies such as WeGotTickets cannot be underestimated. We are honoured that they has chosen to extend their campaign with us into 2025.”
