Universal Music UK announces new Artist Relations team

Universal Music UK today announces changes to its Artist Relations team, designed to reinvigorate and strengthen the offer, and ensure it is at the centre of a label's day-to-day approach, delivering a world class service to artists.

The new team, led by Shiarra Bell, and including Hannah Lamb and Ali Golembo, will collaborate more closely with the artist and manager community, alongside Universal's roster of labels and the wider company. By offering a multi-dimensional support system to artists – including bespoke events, well-being programmes, artist liaison and unique tailored experiences to help the artist's journey – the team will better support, elevate and enhance the experience of an artist within their label and UMG.

Shiarra Bell has been promoted to Director of Artist Relations – a reflection of her expertise across a diverse range of roles and achievements in her career so far. Her journey began in music management, where she spent 10 years working with iconic bands such as All Saints, Sugababes, and B*Witched. She then transitioned to Polydor, working closely with artists such as Eminem, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, NERD, YEAH YEAHS YEAH'S, Queens of the Stone Age, and more as part of the Artist Relations team. She then moved into the events space, honing her skills in large-scale productions and high-profile gatherings. Over the past few years, she has been an important part of Globe and Mercury Studios, serving as the Head of Talent.

Hannah Lamb has been an invaluable member of the team for the past 10 years, starting in the department as an intern and now in her role as Head of Artist Relations.  Her experience in producing creative and unique artist events as well as her natural ability to create and nurture relationships with artists, managers and partners, have consistently elevated the team's reputation and influence across the business and in the wider industry.

Ali Golembo began at EMI as promotions intern and is now stepping up to the role of Artist Relations Manager. Through hard work and perseverance, Ali has quickly become an essential part of the Artist Relations team, helping to foster strong and lasting relationships with artists and producing high-end label events.

The team will report into Rebecca Allen, President of the Audience & Media Division at Universal Music UK, who now takes overall responsibility for Artist Relations.

Rebecca Allen said, "With Shiarra at the helm, and Hannah and Ali by her side, this future-facing team are set to bring a new level of creativity and support to our artists and label teams."

After nearly three decades at Universal Music UK, current Director of UK Artist Relations Claire Haffenden has decided to leave the company in the Spring to launch her own concierge and events business.

Dickon Stainer said, "Claire has been at the heart of our company for many years, and has consistently delivered on the biggest stage for some of the world's biggest artists, a service built on many years of trust and through the wonderful team she has nurtured. We wish her the very best for the adventures ahead and I'm looking forward to seeing what the new team will achieve."
