Trinifold Sports Management
31 March 2021 - Press releaseA new sports management agency with a fresh approach
Founded on nurturing golfing talent + Creating future champions
Announcing at least 12 new signings including Walker Cup, Curtis Cup team and NCAA collegiate players this year
Today marks the launch of a new sports management company, Trinifold Sports Management (TSM). This newly created agency, conceived by legendary music manager, Bill Curbishley and Golfing4Life founder, Jimmy Byers, will nurture and manage the sporting stars of tomorrow by supporting young athletes and providing sporting and life opportunities to create stars of the future.
TSM has big ambitions in 2021 with a stellar line up of players signing with the agency over the course of the year. 12 young future golfing stars including 2019 Walker Cup players Tom Plumb & Tom Sloman, MENA Tour winner David Langley and Portuguese amateur champion Harry Goddard will join the TSM roster as well as 2021 Curtis Cup, Walker Cup and NCAA collegiate players, creating a very exciting stable of young talent.
Bill Curbishley has helped forge rock legends The Who’s career for the last 50 years, as well as managing Judas Priest, UB40, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. Byers formerly ran the not-for-profit Golfing4Life (G4L), a philanthropic platform designed to nurture young talent from the early stages of their careers by providing access to educational facilities to assist with time management along with tournament expenditure, High-Performance coaching, masterclasses with elite sportspeople and life education and perspective through their affiliation with the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The idea for TSM originated when Byers and Curbishley struggled to find suitable management for their carefully developed playing talent. So, they decided to move forward and create TSM, bringing to life their ambition of creating a game-changing opportunity for young people that offers complete transparency, security and longevity to all their signings, ensuring players are given the very best opportunity to realise their ambitions.
Curbishley who produced the iconic film Quadrophenia and most recently The Railway Man was quoted recently in Music Business Worldwide saying that ‘When you sign an artist, you’re taking their whole life in your hands.’ He is now applying that same philosophy to TSM.
"It's vitally important to give talented youngsters a clear road to achieve their potential. If after 100% effort they succeed, it's wonderful. Should they fall short they can still walk with their heads held high knowing they had the opportunity to give their all" said Bill.
“Young golfers will no longer be seen as a commodity, our players will have the security of a complete support network. We believe in giving our players every opportunity to become established European Tour professionals” commented Byers.
Investors in TSM include serial entrepreneurs Tim and Andrew Harman with other exciting partnerships to be announced in the coming months. The hugely successful siblings were the innovation behind IT giants Annodata, one of the UK’s top independent technology services. Family Harman now operate a number of global businesses and will bring a wealth of business acumen and direction to an extremely impressive board. Andrew has a deep knowledge of elite sports performance having been a professional footballer. He played for clubs including Wycombe Wanderers and Marlow FC before he and Tim went on to establish Annodata.
Bill and James’ vision for their roster goes beyond the skills the players will need to be their very best, cope with the pressure of major tournaments and stay focused no matter what. They believe the players should learn to give back from day one, so philanthropy is built in as part of their contractual responsibilities.
TSM’s affiliation with Teenage Cancer Trust, the charity set up by Roger Daltrey and life presidents and founders of the Teenage Cancer Trust Dr Adrian Whiteson OBE and Myrna Whiteson MBE, will be a key tenet of the organisation and raising awareness of their work is of paramount importance. Through player apparel and a planned series of fundraising events, the Trust’s crucial work is given an international platform to highlight the difference it can make to young people living with cancer.
TSM are based in London with elite training camps for their players in France, Spain and Dubai. They also partner with the magnificent Goodwood where their players are granted access by the Duke of Richmond all year round. In March 2021, the great Jack Nicklaus and his long-standing manager Scott Tolley hosted TSM’s Walker Cup players at the Bears Club in Jupiter, Florida.
Concentrating initially on golf the company would like to expand into other sports such as boxing, football and tennis. Curbishley has been a trustee of West Ham and Newham Boxing Club for many years and is the elder brother of footballing legend Alan Curbishley.
