Tileyard London, the world's largest creative community, has launched its first-ever podcast series, Tileyard - The Secret Source. This new series dives into the personal and professional journeys of the pioneers, innovators, and tastemakers who shape the industries of music, media, and technology, with all guests housed within Tileyard's dynamic ecosystem.
Hosted by Tileyard co-founder Nick Keynes, each episode offers a candid look at the successes, challenges, and insights of some of the most influential figures in the business. The first three episodes feature music and technology lawyer Cliff Fluet, Platoon founder Denzyl Feigelson, and BPI CEO Dr Jo Twist OBE – all available now on major podcast platforms, with new episodes dropping weekly.
Keynes describes the series as an opportunity to uncover the real stories behind the industry's most influential names. "Tileyard - The Secret Source offers an exclusive window into the minds of industry leaders who are shaping the future of music, tech, and creativity - all based here at Tileyard. Our community is home to some of the most innovative and forward-thinking people in the world, and I'm thrilled that our first guests are sharing their incredible stories here on Tileyard - The Secret Source."
The first guest, Denzyl Feigelson, is a visionary in the music industry whose influence spans decades. As the Founder and CEO of Platoon, he has played a crucial role in launching the careers of artists such as Jorja Smith, Billie Eilish, Ayra Starr, and Victoria Monét. He pioneered digital distribution for the music industry with AWAL— Artists Without A Label—in 1997. By the time he sold AWAL (and its Analytics business - BuzzDeck) to Kobalt in 2011, it represented over 40,000 artists. Feigelson's career began in South Africa, where he worked with Paul Simon on the seminal Grammy-winning album Graceland, before managing acts like Johnny Clegg, Gypsy Kings, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. In the early 2000s, Steve Jobs recruited him to help with music licensing and curation and he would go on to be integral to the launch of iTunes, where he played a pivotal role in Apple's music strategy, making him a key voice in bridging music and technology.
Cliff Fluet, the second guest, is a leading figure at the intersection of law, entertainment, and technology. As a Partner at Lewis Silkin LLP and Managing Director of Eleven Advisory, he advises major music, sports, and entertainment clients on emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and immersive entertainment. A recognised industry expert ranked in the Legal 500's Hall of Fame, Cliff is also a key advocate for the well-being of creatives, serving as Vice Chair of Help Musicians UK and Chair of Music Minds Matter.
Dr Jo Twist OBE, CEO of UK record labels association, the BPI (British Phonographic Industry), which also runs The BRIT Awards and Mercury Prize, is the third guest in the series. With an extensive career in digital innovation, Jo has been at the forefront of interactive entertainment, and the creative industries. Previously the CEO of Ukie, the UK's video game trade body, she has worked across media, policy, and education, shaping the future of entertainment. A former BAFTA Trustee, a member of the UKRI AI Strategic Advisory Team, a BRIT Trust trustee, and King's Appointed Trustee for Historic Royal Palaces, Jo has been widely recognised for her contributions to the creative sector, receiving an OBE for services to the industry.
