The Radio Academy today reveals the 211 nominees that will be recognised at the 2024 ARIAS on Tuesday 7th May at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London.
The Radio Academy ARIAS (Audio and Radio Industry Awards) are the UK's leading audio and radio awards that celebrate outstanding shows and the creative teams behind them. The ARIAS take place annually to recognise the thriving audio industry's global impact and importance to audiences.
The brand-new hosts taking the stage this year include award-winning comedian and host of BBC Radio 2's For The Love and Hip Hop show, Romesh Ranganathan, plus award-winning broadcaster and co-host of the chart-topping podcasts My Dad Wrote A Porno and British Scandal, Alice Levine. For the first time, the ARIAS will also share backstage interviews on socials with winners and presenters from Hits radio presenter, host of the Staying Relevant podcast, and ITV's I'm A Celebrity 2023 winner: Sam Thompson.
This year at the ARIAS there are 27 awards to be won, including Best New Presenter, Best Music Breakfast Show, Best New Podcast and the popular Moment of the Year Award voted by the public in partnership with the Radio Times, which will be open from Wednesday 27th March. 2024 Nominees range from Times Radio's Jane Garvey and Fi Glover for Best Speech Presenter, Pod Save the UK hosted by Nish Kumar and Coco Khan for Best News Coverage, Kathy Burke's Where There's A Will, There's A Wake podcast for The Comedy Award, BBC 6 Music's Jamz Supernova for Best Specialist Music Show, Life After Prison with Zak and Jules for The Grassroots Award, BBC Asian Network for UK station or Network of the Year, BBC Radio Leeds Rob Burrow for Best New Presenter and Ken Bruce joins Greatest Hits Radio for Radio Times Moment of the Year.
