Statement from BPI on King's Speech/AI

Music is at the forefront of AI adoption, embracing new technologies to benefit the creative process and fan experience. It remains imperative, however, that this revolution does not come at the expense of our world-leading creative and cultural sectors or the UK’s gold standard intellectual property rights that are vital to their success.

Any legislation on AI or data must ensure that human creativity is respected through a framework of authorisation to enable creativity and technology to flourish in partnership. This requires appropriate measures on transparency, labelling and data collection. We look forward to working with the Government as it shapes its legislative plans further.
