SPUNK RECORDS AND COOPERATIVE MUSIC SIGN LONG TERM WORLDWIDE LICENSING AGREEMENT.?
20 February 2012Sydney-based independent label Spunk Records, and international independent label group Cooperative Music have signed a long term licensing agreement, which will see Spunk’s roster of artists worked through Cooperative Music’s label management and marketing team in Australia, and through Cooperative Music’s international network around the world.
Spunk was started 12 years ago by Aaron Curnow and it has grown to become a respected label, with a local international roster that includes My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Spoon, Joanna Newsom, and Sufjan Stevens. They also work internationally with a number of Australian artists that includes The Middle East, Tiny Ruins and many more. The Spunk deal with Co-op commences March which sees new Spunk releases from Andrew Bird, M Ward and Lambchop. Distribution is through Universal Music Australia.
