Spotify partners with TheWRD as part of its Creator Equity Fund

Spotify is pleased to announce it is partnering with global educational platform TheWRD, as part of its ongoing Creator Equity Fund.

With the programme providing online education to those interested in pursuing careers in creative industries, Spotify’s sponsorship will provide more opportunities to budding creatives to gain first-hand experience across sectors including songwriting, music production, A&R and more.

Supported by talent including Peter Gabriel, singer-songwriter Celeste and hit producer Paul Epworth, the initiative offers education across the creative industries outside of the traditional university and college education systems.

As part of its sponsorship, Spotify will support 100 scholarships for TheWRD’s introductory course, 14 Day Music Career Builder, with supporters including hitmakers Jamie Hartman and Paul Epworth, and industry leaders such as Warner Chappell, Ivors Academy and Milk & Honey Management. Check out more details on Instagram.

Aaron Buckingham, Songwriter and Publishing Relations Lead at Spotify, said: “Being in a position to support brilliant organisations like TheWRD is a huge privilege and one that we don’t take for granted. At Spotify we’re always looking for new ways to support emerging creatives, and it was clear that our values aligned with the team at The WRD right from our first conversation.”

Spotify previously announced the launch of the Creator Equity Fund with the aim to create new avenues of support to champion artists, songwriters and podcast creators from diverse backgrounds.
