Spirit Music Group appoints Lou Al-Chamaa as Executive Vice President of A&R



 

Spirit Music Group has appointed highly respected A&R veteran Lou Al-Chamaa to the role of Executive Vice President of A&R. In this new role, Al-Chamaa will sign, develop artists, songwriters and producers for Spirit Music Group. Al-Chamaa will report to Spirit Music Group's Chief Creative Officer, Frank Rogers, and will be based in the company's Los Angeles office.

Lou Al-Chamaa joins the Spirit Music Group team from AVEX USA, where he served as Senior Vice President, Head of A&R, Publishing and worked to build and restructure the company's A&R and creative division. Lou's role at Avex was key to bringing in big signings such as afro beats star Victony, hit songwriters / producers Jasper Harris (Tate McRae – Greedy), GENT! Producer of Doja Cats No1 at Top 40 – Agora Hills. Lou also helped cement key partnerships with Ryan Tedder's Runner Music publishing. 

Prior to that, Al-Chamaa worked as an A&R and Catalog Acquisition consultant, sourcing and advising on the acquisitions of publishing catalogs including Calvin Harris, Sean Douglas (Demi Lovato/Dua Lipa/Thomas Rhett), Ricky Reed (Lizzo/Maroon 5), Geoff Warburton (Shawn Mendes/Florida Georgia Line) and others.

Al-Chamaa spent six years at Sony Music Publishing as Vice President of A&R where he signed and worked with clients such as Mike Posner, Lucky Daye, Daniel Caesar, Khalid, Louis Bell, Tori Kelly, Lindgren (BTS) and more. He was also the A&R for Noah Cyrus during her July / End Of Everything EP achieving over 1.2 billion streams for RECORDS/Columbia music labels.
