Sony Music Publishing Signs Global Deal with MTech
27 March 2025 - Press releaseSony Music Publishing, in partnership with renowned producer Sounwave, today announced the signing of acclaimed producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist MTech to a global publishing deal, covering catalog and future songs.
Matthew Bernard, aka MTech, has quickly established himself as a dynamic creative force, working alongside some of the biggest names in music today across various genres. Most recently, he contributed across six tracks on Kendrick Lamar’s groundbreaking album GNX, which reached #1 on Billboard’s 200 Albums chart.
His credits on GNX include hit songs "Luther" featuring SZA, which is currently sitting at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a fifth consecutive week, as well as "Squabble Up," which also debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
MTech said, “Navigating to this point in my journey hasn’t been easy. Life can tear you down but I’m evidence that faith & love will get you through. I’m really just glad to be here & grateful to Sounwave for the opportunity.”

MTech’s notable credits also include a placement on Kendrick Lamar’s Euphoria, another landmark project that achieved millions of global streams, as well as contributions across Kali Uchis’ Orquídeas and placements on Blxst’s I’ll Always Come Find You.
Born and raised in Los-Angeles, MTech first launched his career at seventeen as a producer for independent artists. He later moved to Atlanta where he earned continued success, securing his first major TV placement on FOX’s Star and working as a rehearsal pianist and arranger on The Four: Battle for Stardom. He returned to LA in 2022 and was introduced to celebrated producer Sounwave a year later by his manager Gary Biddy, leading to major opportunities and further solidifying MTech's status as an in-demand hitmaker.
