Pulse Records appoints Tim Glover as President, A&R

PULSE Records has appointed A&R executive Tim Glover to the role of President of A&R as announced today by PULSE Music Group co-CEOs Josh Abraham and Scott Cutler and PULSE Music Group President, Ashley Calhoun. In this new role, Glover will sign and develop artists as well as oversee recording projects for PULSE Records. Glover will report jointly to Abraham, Cutler and Calhoun and will be based in the company's offices in Silverlake, CA.

Tim Glover joins the PULSE Records team from Interscope Geffen A&M, where he served as Executive VP of A&R. Glover had been with Interscope Geffen A&M since 2014. During his time at Interscope, Glover worked as the point person with J. Cole and artists on the rapper's Dreamville imprint which includes artist like JID and Ari Lennox, among others. He also oversaw A&R for the Atlanta-based record label and creative agency LVRN, which entered a joint venture with Interscope in 2016. Glover helped develop LVRN artist Summer Walker & 6LACK, amongst others on the label. Glover also signed and oversaw platinum-selling rapper Lil Mosey, Tierra Whack and rising star, Jordan Ward.

Glover hails from Philadelphia and began his career as a college rep for Universal Music Group while attending Howard University. After graduation, he worked as a field marketing rep for Universal Music Group Distribution, quickly leading to a lifestyle marketing role at Def Jam Recordings where he worked on marketing campaigns for artists like Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Pusha T.

In making the appointment, Josh Abraham, Scott Cutler, and Ashley Calhoun commented: "Tim's creative ability has led him to sign and work with some of the world's top recording artists. In June 2023, PULSE Music Group and Concord launched PULSE Records. The label is the latest vertical for PULSE Music Group, which already boasts a music publishing and artist management arm. PULSE Records capitalizes on PULSE Music Group's ability to invest in the highest levels of creative talent, supported by Concord's existing label services platform and administrative teams. Most recently, PULSE Records formed an artist development joint venture with ISO Supremacy, the new record label founded by multi-Platinum recording artist and PULSE Music Group publishing client, Brent Faiyaz. Through the deal PULSE and Brent Faiyaz signed Tommy Richman to PULSE Records. Tommy opened for Brent Faiyaz on Faiyaz's sold-out F*ck the World It's A Wasteland Tour.

PULSE Records also recently announced the signing of New Zealand born South African artist 9lives, a key leader in pioneering the Sigilkore sound & scene (a new fast-growing internet born rap subgenre drawing inspiration from trap, cloudrap, hyperpop, and electronic). Since emerging in 2022, 9lives has rapidly grown a following, culminating in over 435 million Spotify streams across 15.6 million listeners in 184 countries over the past 12 months. 9lives has over 800 million cumulative streams to date. The new single from 9lives "MULTIMILLIONAIRE (with Trippie Redd and Odetari)" was released on all platforms on January 19th.
