Pulse Music Group promotes Annie Aberle to SVP/Head of Creative for Publishing Division

Scott Cutler and Josh Abraham, co-CEOs of PULSE Music Group and Ashley Calhoun, President, PULSE Music Group today announced the promotion of Annie Aberle to Senior Vice President/Head of Creative, PULSE Music Group. Aberle was previously Vice President, A&R, PULSE Music Group. Aberle's responsibilities will include signing, developing and implementing creative strategy for PULSE Music Group's world-class roster of songwriters and producers for the publishing division of the company. The A&R team for the publishing division of PULSE Music Group will now report into Aberle. Annie Aberle is based at the company's Los Angeles headquarters and reports directly to Scott Cutler and Ashley Calhoun.
With Aberle now overseeing the A&R team for the company's publishing division, Ashley Calhoun, President, PULSE Music Group, continues to grow her senior management responsibilities for the company, overseeing teams for both PULSE Music Group's publishing division and its PULSE Records division alongside co-CEOs Scott Cutler and Josh Abraham.

Since joining PULSE Music Group in 2018, Aberle has contributed significantly to the development of the company's roster. Aberle works closely with PULSE Music Group client Tyler Johnson, who co-wrote & produced Harry Styles' "As It Was" (the song was the Ivor Novello Award winner for "Most Performed Work and the BRIT Award winner for "Song of the Year, was #1 in 18 different countries, RIAA 6X Platinum, and 4.5 billion total streams) as well as nine other songs on Harry Styles' record-breaking #1 album, Harry's House. Annie also works as the PULSE Music Group A&R point person for Aldae (a shared client with Beka Tischker of Wide Eyed Entertainment), whose recent work on "One More Time" with Blink-182 was the highest charting single for the band in 20 years, hit #1 at Alternative Radio for 20+ weeks with over 100 million streams. Aldae also collaborated on "Wild Ones" recorded by Jessie Murph & Jelly Roll which is currently Top 20 at Top 40 radio and has worked with Justin Bieber, The Kid LAROI, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes. Together, Tyler Johnson and Aldae, won the GRAMMY for Record of the Year and BRIT Award for International Song of the Year for their work on "Flowers" Miley Cyrus. "Flowers" is the longest-running song in Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart history (42+ weeks), IFPI's best-selling global song of 2023 and the most-stream song released in 2023 on Spotify.
Most recently, Aberle helped to sign a creative partnership with songwriter/producer/recording artist, Jon Bellion via his Beautiful Mind publishing company, with the first signing to the partnership being Elijah Noll. Bellion has produced and written songs for artists including Rihanna, Jung Kook, Halsey, Miley Cyrus, Burna Boy, Camila Cabello, Lil Wayne, Jonas Brothers, Zayn, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Jon Batiste & many more. Jon Bellion is a frequent collaborator with Elijah Noll.
Annie also was instrumental in the signing of a music publishing creative joint venture with Song of the Year and Album of the Year GRAMMY-winning songwriter/producer/recording artist, Dan Wilson. Wilson's songwriting resume includes "Closing Time", which he wrote for his band, Semisonic; "Not Ready to Make Nice" (co-written with the Chicks); and "Someone Like You" (co-written with Adele and Wilson also produced the track), among many others.
Annie directly signed Ryan Beatty, who is an artist and songwriter who recently contributed on four songs on Beyonce's COWBOY CARTER album, and is also an ancillary member of the boyband BROCKHAMPTON; Jack Rochon, who has produced and co-written for H.E.R., 6lack, Charlotte Day Wilson, and recently collaborated on three songs on Beyonce's COWBOY CARTER album; Jorgen Odegard, who co-wrote and produced Justin Bieber's hit single "H.O.L.Y. feat. Chance the Rapper", and has collaborated with artists like Imagine Dragons, Khalid, P!nk, Ella Mai, Julia Michaels, and Kygo; and Jonah Shy who co-wrote and produced Shawn Mendes' pop radio hit "When You're Gone" (who she signed via a joint venture with Scott Harris' Superreal Records).
Her roster also includes James Blake (who was nominated for a Best Contemporary Song IVOR for "Coming Back ft. SZA", and Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2023 GRAMMYS); Andrew Jackson whose credits include Dua Lipa, Halsey, Eminem and Dominic Fike; artist and producer SG Lewis, who has collaborated with artists including Dua Lipa, Nile Rodgers, Khalid, Robyn, and Clairo; and Jonah Christian, who co-wrote and produced on Normani's multi-platinum single "Wild Side feat. Cardi B", and has credits with artists including Tems, Lil Wayne, Burna Boy, Nicki Minaj, 6lack, Anderson. Paak, and Snoh Aalegra.
PULSE Music Group writers currently have 6 songs on Beyoncé's Cowboy Carteralbum. The album has hit #1 on Billboard 200 and Top Country Album charts and #1 in seven different countries.
Prior to joining PULSE, Aberle worked in artist management and film & TV development. Aberle graduated with a B.A. degree from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California.
