PRS for Music accredited as Living Wage Employer
02 September 2024 - Press release
PRS for Music has been officially recognised as a Living Wage Employer by the Living Wage Foundation. The certification demonstrates the organisation is committed to paying its team a real living wage that meets the costs of living, rather than the UK government prescribed national minimum wage and national living wage.
Headquartered in London, PRS for Music is powered by over 500 employees and exists to ensure songwriters, composers and music publishers are fairly paid for the use of their music.
The organisation joins a growing number of employers across the UK who are steadfast in continuing to play a part in tackling in-work and post-work poverty ensuring wages continue to reflect the real cost of living.
Earlier this year, the organisation was endorsed as a Top Employer by the Top Employer Institute and in 2023, it was recognised as a disability confident employer; a Department of Work and Pensions initiative supporting disability in relation to employment, retention, training and career development.
The accreditations reflect the success of PRS for Music’s high-performing team where the values of inclusion, intrapreneurship and collaboration are embraced.
Suzanne Hughes, Chief People and Transformation Officer, PRS for Music, said: “We are on a journey to foster a positive workplace culture and being recognised as a Living Wage Employer demonstrates our dedication for a better world of work for our team. Empowering the PRS team, prioritising their wellbeing and their development, creates an environment for success. Employees who feel they are fairly compensated are less likely to experience financial stress which supports improved overall performance, both for the individual and the organisation.”
