Playlist Alert iOS app integrates Apple Music playlists
21 February 2024 - Press releaseSince it’s launch in 2021, the Playlist Alert iOS app has been widely recognised as the fastest service for being notified when songs are added to Spotify editorial playlists and is used by music industry professionals around the world. As of today we’re excited to announce that we’re rolling out support for Apple Music editorial playlists in addition to our existing Spotify integration.
Getting editorial support from streaming platforms via playlisting is one of the main mechanisms that moves the needle in the streaming world and being added to an editorial playlist can be incredibly meaningful for an artist. The Playlist Alert app aims to notify you as quickly as possible when songs are added to playlists, usually in a matter of minutes.
In addition you can track the progress of a song over time and chart if it has been moved up or down in a playlist, an indicator of how well the song is reacting amongst listeners.
As well as official editorial playlists the app also monitors viral and country charts globally.
Apple Watch integration is also built in, meaning you can get those handy notifications right on your wrist!
Most importantly, the app is completely free to use and contains no advertising, making it an essential piece of the toolkit for anybody in the music industry.
Kieron Donoghue, the founder of Playlist Alert and Humble Angel Records has been in the music/tech space since 2009 when he built the first platform in Spotify’s ecosystem, Playlists.net. He then went on to create the playlist brand Topsify that he sold to Warner Music in 2014. After spending 3 years at Warner Music as VP of Global Playlist Strategy & Curation he left in 2017 to set up his independent record label, Humble Angel Records and to develop the Playlist Alert app.
