Metropolis Studios, London announces the appointment of Charlie Colton to the position of General Manager / Head of Mastering. 

Reporting to CEO Richard Connell, in the new role Charlie will oversee all day to day aspects of the studio, mastering and mixing business for the West London recording complex. 

After joining Beggars Group aged 19 Charlie took in roles at SonyBMG and Solar Management and spent five years at Air Studios / Strongroom as Booking Manager. A move to Live TV/QVC proceeded a roll at Urchin Studios as Studio Manager where Charlie spent 10 years. 

Charlie has managed Mastering Engineer Matt Colton for over 10 years and the pair joined Metropolis in 2018 in the Mastering department and quickly established themselves as a formidable team in the world class mastering set-up at Metropolis. 

Charlie Colton said,

Richard Connell, CEO said of the appointment,

In a further news Metropolis is sad to announce that Dan Baldwin will be leaving his role as Head of Mastering after 23 years with Metropolis as he moves to a new role outside of the industry.

Richard Connell, CEO paid tribute to Dan Baldwin saying,

“Dan has been a cornerstone of mastering at Metropolis for over two decades. And as Metropolis has grown under his stewardship to be the preeminent mastering house in Europe, mastering some of the worlds finest and most successful records in history, his role in that should not be underestimated. We all owe Dan a huge debt of gratitude and I am so sad to see him go, we wish him well for his next chapter.”
