COMPLETING THE LINE-UP FOR ONE OF THE WORLD'S BIGGEST CELEBRATIONS OF SONGWRITING
Songwriting celebration and music charity event The Other Songs Live has announced a string of esteemed composers and songwriters to complete its stellar line-up, including contemporary music giant Max Richter and the celebrated film and television composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer, known for his theme for HBO's White Lotus.
Further additions include leading songwriters and artists such as London Grammar's Dot Major, Shelly Peiken, Hohnen Ford and Romaya. They will join some of the world's leading songwriters such as Bernie Taupin, Tom Odell, Gabriels, Celeste, KAMILLE and many more, raising money for music charities at the London Palladium on Monday 20 May.
The Other Songs celebrates the world's most distinguished performers, delving into the origin of legendary songs. This year will include a performance from Max Richter and a very special live version of the White Lotus theme from Cristobal Tapia de Veer, as well as on-stage interviews offering the audience an intimate perspective into their songwriting process.
Often described as one of the most influential composers of his generation, Max Richter stands as a pivotal figure on the contemporary music scene. With streaming figures measured in the billions, Richter's works cross boundaries and genres; encompassing solo artist albums, ballets, concert hall performances, cinema and television scores, video art installations and theatre works. His work has been nominated twice for a GRAMMY Award, as well as a Primetime Emmy Award.
Multiple award-winning Cristobal Tapia de Veer is a classically trained musician, producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. Renowned for his distinctive and experimental composition style, he has received a wealth of prestigious accolades throughout his career, including three Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on White Lotus, as well as a BAFTA for his work on Channel 4's National Treasure.
Completing the line-up are Shelly Peiken, the American songwriter known for writing no. 1 hits such as "What A Girl Wants" by Christina Aguilera and the top 10 hit "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks which she will perform on the night, as well as London vocalist, composer and band-leader Hohnen Ford, rising star Romaya, and a special session from London Grammar's Dot Major performing the music of Nick Lloyd Webber in his memory.
They join a huge line-up of previously announced performers including Elton John's famed songwriting partner Bernie Taupin; neo-soul titans Gabriels; BRIT Award winning Tom Odell; and UK vocalist Celeste. GRAMMY recipient KAMILLE will also appear, as well as long-time Donna Summer collaborator Pete Bellotte; platinum selling songwriter Jin-Jin; German producer Tony Gad; and UK singer-songwriter Dyo. Other performers include chart-topping Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot, New York sibling band Infinity Song and rising star Sam Wilkinson.
This year the event will be raising money for three brilliant music charities: The BRIT School, The Ivors Academy Trust, and Nordoff & Robbins, aiming to build on the £65,000 raised in 2023.
