George Michael, Bob Marley, Jeff Wayne, Suede, Simple Minds and Fleetwood Mac are among the artists taking part in hmv’s Vinyl Week 2024, with exclusive new editions of classic albums and soundtracks available for collectors.

The entertainment retailer’s Vinyl Week begins on Saturday, 15th  June 2024 with Exclusives Day, when more than 40 new records will drop in stores. 2023’s event saw queues outside more than 100 hmv stores across the UK as ardent fans sought to add the coveted releases to their personal collections.

This carefully curated list for 2024 includes George Michael’s Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, his million-selling second solo album will be available on an exclusive clear disc for the first time. Fans of reggae will be able to get their hands on Bob Marley’s classic record Legend, releasing on limited edition gold vinyl on the year of its 40th anniversary. This year’s drop features exclusive soundtracks too, with titles including music from the popular game Minecraft on a striking green particle vinyl, and the complete original soundtrack of 1960’s Doctor Who

A special “NOW That’s What I Call hmv: Singer & Song” compilation celebrating legendary artists from across seven decades is also available in this year’s drop featuring Elton John, George Michael, Amy Winehouse and The Weeknd amongst others.

A limited quantity of any remaining vinyl will go live online at 4.00 pm on 15th June – though hmv is advising fans to head into stores for the best chance of securing the exclusives. Customers wanting to shop online should take advantage of the "Notify Me When In Stock" feature on hmv.com/store to be notified as soon as the records go on sale.

For those looking to boost their collections even further, the huge range of 3 for £55 Vinyl continues on selected vinyl both in stores and online at hmv.com/store, a great option for those looking for last-minute Father’s Day gifts for Sunday 16th too.

Those visiting the stores and trying to get their hands on the LPs will be entertained by performances from British artists and grassroot bands as part of hmv’s Live&Local programme. On 15 June, there will be over 120 events at more than 90 of hmv’s stores.

Phil Halliday, hmv Managing Director, said: “Year on year we continue to be astounded by the reaction to Vinyl Week, seeing avid collectors queue outside stores up and down the country to make sure they get their hands on our exclusive records.
