GREGOR CAMERON AND AMANDA GHOST PARTNER WITH LEN BLAVATNIK’S ACCESS INDUSTRIES TO LAUNCH INDEPENDENT BRITISH PRODUCTION COMPANY UNIGRAM

First Project on New Slate to Focus on Trailblazing Music App Shazam

Gregor Cameron and Amanda Ghost have today announced a new partnership with Len Blavatnik’s Access Industries, which will see the launch of UNIGRAM: an independent British film, television, and multimedia production company focused on the development of projects featuring music at its core. The creation of UNIGRAM follows the partners’ recent successful collaboration on the Indie feature film KILL YOUR FRIENDS, set to world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12TH, and which showcases the partners’ signature commitment to making music a central character of any project.

UNIGRAM will draw on the inter-industry strengths of the founders, as they actively seek to partner with leading artists and music labels on the development and pre-production of an eclectic mix of film, television, and alternative media properties - integrating new artists, music catalogue and film to produce truly unique, new projects.  As part of the company’s new slate, UNIGRAM will work with Tim Reid (PETER KAY’S CAR SHARE) and Dhiraj Mukherjee, one of the founders of ground-breaking music app Shazam, in order to bring the storied history of the app to the big screen. Television projects include the development of a spin off from KILL YOUR FRIENDS, set in the present day.

Discussing the vision for UNIGRAM, Amanda Ghost added: “Combining the artistic and commercial power of music and film is not a new concept, but in today’s multifaceted and ever-changing music industry, the opportunity to join forces with other platforms within the media is now an exciting prospect. Alongside exploring and revisiting existing catalogues, original music will be developed and produced utilising both marquee writers and producers in executive production roles, and a network of established songwriters to create musical content that will live inside and alongside the projects.”

“Our Shazam project is the story of an incredible era when the music business and the rest of the world changed forever. It’s a great example of where we want to be, at the cross-section of music, film and new media. We’re delighted to be partnering with Tim and Dhiraj on such an exciting next chapter for UNIGRAM”, said Gregor Cameron.

UNIGRAM is actively developing unscripted music and entertainment projects in addition to its scripted content. A number of further scripted and non-scripted projects will be announced in the coming months.

The upcoming KILL YOUR FRIENDS is set in London during the heady world of Nineties Britpop, and stars Nicholas Hoult, James Corden, Craig Roberts, Tom Riley, Ed Skrein and Rosanna Arquette. Developed closely with Access Industries founder and Chairman Len Blavatnik, the movie is based on the best-selling novel by former A&R John Niven. Warner Music Group, owned by Access Industries, supervised the movie’s soundtrack.
