Fish56Octagon launches record label Octagon Discs in partnership with Another Rhythm Records

Announces First Release: Groove Armada & Declan Knapp's “Superstylin'” – Out 4th October 2024

UK viral DJ sensation Fish56Octagon has officially set up his own record label, partnering with Another Rhythm Records (a subdivision of The Other Songs) to launch Octagon Discs. This exciting partnership marks a new chapter for the fast-rising DJ and tastemaker, who has taken the electronic music scene by storm in a remarkably short time.

Dubbed the "human Shazam”, Fish56Octagon’s meteoric rise caught the attention of Another Rhythm Records’ co-founder Billy Webber. Both Fish and Another Rhythm Records share a common goal: to build a vibrant community around cutting-edge electronic music and support rising talent in the space.

Fish56Octagon’s rise has been remarkable. Starting out on social media as a car and dry Weetabix enthusiast, he transitioned into sharing his deep love for rave culture, quickly gaining a passionate following. Fish has educated millions of music fans with his vast knowledge of electronic music. After quitting his full-time job to pursue his dream as a DJ, his debut summer has seen him play over 60 shows across Europe, including three sets at Glastonbury and has tours scheduled in the US and Australia. His rapid ascent has earned him praise from dance legends like Carl CoxBicep, Disclosure, Roni Size and Skrillex.

@Fish56Octagon you got what it takes… When passionate, you work harder… and one day they call it talent.” David Guetta

@Fish56Octagon follow your dreams! See you at the festivals!” Tiesto

Octagon Discs will serve as a platform for both emerging and established dance music artists, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of electronic music. The label’s debut release is highly anticipated: a rework of Groove Armada’s iconic track “Superstylin'” by rising star Declan KnappFish discovered the track while sifting through the hundreds of demos he receives daily from aspiring producers. “Something about Declan’s email and the track stood out immediately,” Fish said. “It’s since become a festival favourite this summer, from Glastonbury to Ibiza.”

Fish has an incredible gift for curating, communicating and sharing music with his totally unique and infectious passion. We're ecstatic to launch Octagon Discs, which will give artists a platform to reach a fast-growing community within electronic music and beyond.” -Billy Webber, Another Rhythm Records Co-Founder.

With Andy Cato of Groove Armada giving his seal of approval, the reimagined “Superstylin'” opened Groove Armada’s legendary Glastonbury 2024 set. This collaboration, now locked in for Octagon Discs’ first release, is set to drop on 4th October 2024.

"Groove Armada's Superstylin' is one of the most iconic dance tracks ever made. Superstylin' has been in my life since I started DJing and it's been incredible to produce a new version of it in my own style. Although that first version is timeless, I wanted to put a modern take on it and deliver a new and exciting sound that elevates the very power of the original. The overwhelmingly positive reception for the track means a lot to me, and I am glad that I could do it justice." - Declan Knapp

Another Rhythm Records continues to solidify its place as a key player in the electronic music scene. Co-founded by brothers Alastair and Billy Webber, the label, part of The Other Songs, is focused on discovering and nurturing the next wave of electronic talent. Recently, The Other Songs Publishing launched a global publishing partnership with Universal Music Publishing Group and signed acclaimed British singer/songwriter Bruno Major. With over 2 billion streams across its artists, a No. 1 album with Ren, two sold-out shows at The London Palladium raising £125,000 to support music education, and premiering ventures like the animated series Good Morning KevinThe Other Songs is one of the most exciting, fast-growing independent entertainment companies in the UK.
