Earth Agency to focus on independent artists who push musical boundaries
Earth is a brand new global music agency that launches this week conceived and run by a collective of like-minded and experienced live agents - Claire Courtney, Isla Angus, Naomi Palmer and Rebecca Prochnik - alongside operations expert Luke Williamson. Earth will focus specifically on exciting and interesting independent artists who sit outside the mainstream channels.
‘What we here at Earth are most interested in is allowing the music to lead. We are looking to create a home for talented artists, nurturing them to fulfill themselves by being themselves’ said Rebecca Prochnik.
Isla Angus commented ‘We want to seek out the best opportunities for our artists, tailoring venues, promoters and brand sponsorship to each artist's career. Earth offers the kind of secure foundation for an artist's career to develop and progress.’
Earth was created out of the simple but key tenets of progression and creativity, with an incredible musical line-up, housing the likes of Theo Parrish, Actress, Austra, Perfect Pussy, New Pornographers, Deerhunter, Omar Souleyman, The Swell Season, Cate Le Bon, Merchandise, Jackmaster, Black Lips, Glen Hansard, James Holden and Floating Points to name a few. The focus of Earth is to create a long-term home and an invigorated space in the market for independent artists and will be seeking to add agents with a shared sensibility.
"A good agent can make or break an artist's career and at Earth Agency you have four brilliant agents. Even more importantly they are four brilliant agents with a clear vision of what they want their company to be and who they want to work with and as a manager that is vital for me. I want my artists to feel wanted and part of something special rather than a money-making asset for an international corporation with hundreds of acts on their roster and it makes sense that forward-thinking artists, signed to independent labels would want to work with boutique agencies such as Earth Agency". Kerstan Mackness, Riot Management: Portico Quartet, Circle Traps, GoGo Penguin, Roller Trio, Matthew Halsall
The Earth team have joined forces with the unanimous commitment to create a fresh agency environment for both artists and agents. With all five sitting somewhat outside the box with regards to taste and approach, it became evident that there still remains a gap to be filled by a new kind of agency service able to both reflect independent artists and retain a boutique sensibility whilst delivering to the quality standards of a more major enterprise.
The launch of Earth into orbit will be on May 8th.
