Dominican superstar Tokischa signs first-ever global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music

She currently holds the title of top-streamed Dominican female artist on Spotify, with 16M+ monthly listeners

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) U.S. Latin has signed a global publishing deal with Dominican rapper and songwriter Tokischa. She has captivated audiences with her revolutionary storytelling, spotlighting dembow and the vibrant sounds of the local Dominican Republic community. Tokischa exploded onto the global music scene a few years ago with her honest lyrics and high-profile collaborations with J Balvin, Rosalía, Madonna, Anuel AA, and Ozuna. The news comes on the heels of the launch of her own record label, SOL, with Warner Music Latina, and the release of her new single, "Sol."

On signing with WCM, Tokischa's manager Angelica Piche said: "The best results are accomplished by teams, and it's a pleasure to unite with Warner Chappell. Tokischa and I are excited about this collaboration and the synergy that this alliance will bring."

Gustavo Menéndez, President, U.S. Latin & Latin America, WCM said: "We take a lot of pride in who we pair with and sign. We're always looking to work with those who are relevant and possess true artistry. Tokischa is the perfect example of that: her music speaks to her completely original creative side and integrity, and the best is yet to come."

Lazaro Hernandez, SVP, A&R, U.S. Latin & Latin America, WCM added: "It's a privilege to welcome Tokischa, a global rockstar and culture-defining artist and songwriter, to our family. She's paved her own path on her own terms, and her unapologetic authenticity has created a platform for important conversations about freedom and identity."

Tokischa Altagracia Peralta was born in Los Frailes, a low-income area in the eastern region of the Santo Domingo Province. In 2016, she learned how to write and record music and cultivate her vocal style, which has become her primary strength today. In 2018, Tokischa debuted her first song "Pícala", with Dominican singer Tivi Gunz – the music video reached one million views in its opening week. The following two years would see countless releases from the star, including her 2021 hit "Bellaca Putona" with Químico Ultra Mega, which ruled the Dominican charts, "Perra" with the Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin, and "Linda" and "La Combi Versace" with superstar Rosalía. In 2022, she released the RIAA 4x platinum Latin hit "Delincuente" with Anuel AA and Ñengo Flow, received a nomination for Best New Latin Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, and contributed to Rosalía's Latin Grammy winning album Motomami. That same year, she completed her first U.S. tour and was featured on "Hung Up on Tokischa", a remix of Madonna's 2005 hit. In 2023, she collaborated with rap artist Sexyy Red on the infectious single "Daddy" produced by WCM's El Guincho and Yeti Beats.

This year, she released "Ride or Die, Pt. 2" with Sevdaliza and WCM's Villano Antillano and "Chulo pt.2" with WCM's Bad Gyal featuring Young Miko, among other collaborations. Most recently, she also performed at multiple LGBTQ+ Pride festivals, including Toronto Pride, Brooklyn Pride, and LA Pride.
