DICE and Primavera Sound extend their multi-year exclusive mobile-only ticketing partnership

DICE, the fast growing ticketing and live music discovery platform, has extended its exclusive ticketing partnership with Primavera Sound, one of the world’s largest music promotion companies.  

The multi-year partnership, which began in 2019, will see DICE continue to provide tickets for all Primavera Sound events in Europe, including Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona and Madrid, as well as Primavera Sound Festival’s Porto edition. Nearly half a million tickets have been sold securely on DICE for Primavera Sound events in 2022.  

As one of the most respected festivals in the world, Primavera Sound celebrated its 20th anniversary last year - the biggest edition in its 20-year history - by showcasing a multi-genre and eclectic array of talent, with headliners ranging from Gorillaz, Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Lorde, Burna Boy, The Strokes, Tame Impala and Khruangbin - just some of the 400 artists on the bill. Last year, DICE hosted a stage at Primavera Sound Barcelona which included a line-up of Ben UFO, Jeff Mills, Honey Dijon, Prospa, Haai, Goldie, Marco Shuttle, Call Super and Shanti Celeste.

Primavera Sound 2023 will have two locations in Spain over two consecutive weekends - Barcelona and Madrid. The Portuguese edition will take place again in the city of Porto. This is set to be the most ambitious chapter in the history of the festival. 

In 2019, Primavera Sound Barcelona joined forces with DICE, taking a stand against ticket reselling with DICE, with no tickets ending up on the secondary market. Research shows that globally, the impact of ticket scalping and secondary resales costs the live event industry an estimated $13bn a year.  

With its easy-to-use app, DICE locks tickets to smartphones and eliminates ticket touts while ensuring fair and transparent pricing for fans. DICE also offers a Waiting List which gets activated when a show sells out, giving fans the chance to enjoy an event at a fair price without engaging in secondary resales, in turn helping festivals, artists and venues to benefit from hosting sold out events. 

Next year, Primavera Sound Barcelona will take place from 1st to 3rd June in Parc del Fòrum, while Primavera Sound Madrid will take place from 8th to 10th June in Ciudad del Rock de Arganda del Rey. Both locations will also run Primavera a la Ciutat, complementary activities in the city during the days coming up to the festival. Primavera Sound Porto will return to Parque da Cidade, the country’s largest urban park, from the 7th to the 10th of June 2023.
