In Place of War Fellow, Brian Eno, presented Fellowship awards to esteemed artists Charlotte Church, Ed O’Brien, Martyn Ware and Sama’ Abdulhadi at a private fundraiser. The event was the third In Place of War Fellowship Dinner and was attended by 60 music industry execs and artists. The charity, which uses music and artistic creativity as a tool for positive change, working with a network of 130 international change-makers in places affected by conflict, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
The In Place of War Fellowship Programme
In Place of War’s Fellowship programme was established to recognise artists who have contributed to positive impact consistently throughout their careers and includes some of the world’s most influential artists, performers and entertainment organisations. The artists being made Fellows in 2024 join existing fellows Brian Eno, Laurie Anderson, Mary Eavers, Maxine Peake, Nitin Sawhney, Peter Gabriel and Run The Jewels.
In Place of War CEO, Ruth Daniel, says, “We are so lucky to be supported by an incredible network of global artists. Each year we honour some of these artists with Fellowships in recognition of their work, both as musicians and as change-makers. It’s a privilege to be naming this year’s Fellows and, for the Awards to be presented by our long-standing Fellow and supporter, Brian Eno, is so fitting.”
The Fellowship Awards presented to each recipient were created by London-based artist Azarra Amoy.
