In this year's edition our guest country will be France. France is the fifth largest music market in the world: in 2014 its digital sales grew more than 6% and the export of French music generated €600 million - with over 500 artists touring worldwide. There are 1,425 French music festivals and over 240,000 people are employed in the country's music industry.
"We're very excited about this year's host country - France. We will also continue focussing on new ideas and ways of collaborating across music and tech and how to facilitate cooperation between South American and European music professionals. I really look forward to meeting and learning from all these executives and visionaries from across the globe," said Christophe Cassan, BIME’s Director.
“I’m very much looking forward to BIME this year, I’ve been interested in attending for the past several years but excited it’s finally worked out,” said Alex White, CEO Next Big Sound
After a successful second edition last year boasting more than 1,400 delegates from 17 different countries, BIME is back to host executives and visionaries from across the globe to meet more industry delegates whilst focusing on the conference’s two core goals:
- To be the primary meeting place for European executives to meet partners from Latin and South America.
- To explore new ideas and ways of collaborating across music and tech to discover and capitalise on new revenue opportunities.
This year’s BIME panel titles include: Investing in music: Is worth it for VC´s?, The Artist as a Startup, Music in games: Moving Forward Together, How to build New Entrepreneurs to Strengthen Companies, What is a record label nowadays?, The Globalisation of Music" and "What awaits the Music industry in the Future?"- as well as France, Spain, Germany and Latin America-focused panels.
BIME has been featured in Music Week Magazine, Billboard, The Lefsetz Letter, Musikmarkt, Musik Woche and across Spanish press, quickly becoming in the most important international music conference in Spain its first two years.
Alongside the event, as in keeping with previous year’s tradition, BIME hosts one of Europe’s largest indoor live Music festivals which will run parallel to the event from 30th Oct to 1st Nov. Imagine Dragons and Crystal Fighters are confirmed as the headliners. Further acts include: Stereophonics, Richard Ashcroft, !!!, Michael Kiwanuka, Everything Everything, Savages, The Go! Team, Matthew E. White, Zola Jesus, Iron and Wine & many more.
