Beat Hotel announces 5-day Ibiza Residency
04 August 2023 - Press releaseRoaming event brand, the Beat Hotel today unveils plans for its third Ibiza edition, taking place over five consecutive days, 27th September - 1st October. With a takeover of a boutique hotel, daily pool events and a night time programme unfolding at some of the island’s most iconic venues, Beat Hotel in Residence with Patron promises to channel the Balearic ideal, whilst presenting some of today’s most forward-looking artists.
At the heart of the 2023 programme, The Beat Hotel concept becomes bricks and mortar - albeit temporarily - taking over the idyllic Hotel Las Mimosas in Sant Josep de sa Talaia for a 5-day pop up. There, guests can drop in to daily Swim Club sessions featuring poolside DJs and BBQ by Hawksmoor’s Richard Turner & friends, before enjoying a sundowner on the hotel’s roof terrace with ocean views. Guests will also have the opportunity to stay within The Residence (for pricing see website / rooms subject to availability).
From there, the night programme calls at a different venue each day, ranging from elevated dining, to the island’s more discerning dancefloors via most points in between. Venues include the cliff-top spot Hostal La Torre, The Standard’s Ibiza outpost, indoor/outdoor club Cova Santa, the alfresco Las Dalias (with its sister micro-club Akasha), and the original party hotel, Pikes Ibiza.
Live acts performing include Peruvian songstress/producer Sofia Kourtesis, Italian ambient pioneer Gigi Masin playing a rooftop show in the old town, and 7-piece Spirit of Sundaze Ensemble promising to bring a contemporary take on the Balearic spirit, when they headline an open air concert at Las Dalias - home to the island’s weekly hippy markets.
A line-up of international DJs span club tastemakers rarely seen in Ibiza, alongside outliers of the scene making their White Isle debuts. John Talabot & Axel Boman play under their Talaboman guise, alongside Phantasy’s Daniel Avery and rising talent Gabrielle Kwarteng. Elsewhere, the bill includes house aficionado Suze Ijó, vivacious DJ/NTS regular Shanti Celeste, Amsterdam’s Elias Mazian and the cinematically inclined Alex Kassian.
Complementing the line up of international acts, support duties fall to some of the island’s most trusted selectors including Camilo Miranda, Pete Gooding, Chris Coco, The Brothers Grim and Phat Phil Cooper.
Beyond the club shows and open air concerts, on Thursday 28th September, the programme features the conceptually-led “Island Times”. Inviting a diverse selection of creatives to showcase the influence of Ibiza, and their early experiences of the island, on their art, the line up includes a conversation with Irvine Welsh and special DJ sets by e-soul protagonist Luke Una and ibicenco Gaya Brisa. The music will be complemented by a dinner presented by Michelin-Starred chef Brad Carter, taking inspiration from Ibiza’s dancefloors in the form of 3-courses; “Warm up”, “Main Room” and “Afterparty”
